Creating a Kaarakauppa business account
A business account is for car dealerships and other professional sellers. It requires a Finnish business ID (Y-tunnus) and unlocks the business-only features β your public company profile, the company dashboard, and team-member invitations. A paid subscription is optional: you can start on the free tier. For the differences between private and business accounts, see Private vs business accounts.
1. Start from the Sell your car page
Open Sell your car from the top navigation. You'll see two cards side by side: Private seller and Car dealer. The Car dealer card takes you to the business page with a pricing calculator.
π‘ Tip: Decide here which email address you'll start from β you can't change the account type later, and the same Kaarakauppa account can only belong to one company at a time. See Private vs business accounts.
2. Check the pricing and register
The business page lets you estimate your monthly cost before committing: pick a listing-slot count and any add-ons, and the calculator shows the total. If you're already signed in on an account β your private account, for example β the page shows that email address and offers a Use a different account button: it signs you out first and starts registration with a new address. When you're ready, click Register and start for free (or Register and start β β¦/mo when you've selected paid options).
There are no fixed tiers β you choose exactly the slot count you need and can change it at any time later on the Subscription page.
3. Confirm your email
You're redirected to Kaarakauppa's identity service (Keycloak). Enter your email address β you'll get a sign-in link by email, and no password is ever asked for. If you already have a business account, sign in with that email instead. If that address has a private account, it can't create a business account β you pick the account type when you register and can't change it, so register your business account with a different email address. Your private account's listings and messages stay where they are.
β οΈ Heads up: Use a work email address your organisation reads regularly. The same address shows up in buyer enquiries and support.
4. Complete the onboarding wizard
Once you're signed in, the business onboarding wizard opens (Business account Β· Step 1/3):
- Your profile β your name and phone number. The email comes from the identity service and can't be edited here.
-

β οΈ Heads up: On the free tier a company has no listing slots, so you can't publish listings until you buy at least one slot β you can do it any time on the Subscription page. If you close the tab partway through onboarding, the same wizard opens again the next time you sign in.
What happens next?
After onboarding you're signed in as the company's Owner. A Dashboard shortcut appears in the avatar menu, and an orange Dashboard button appears in the top bar β both open the company dashboard, whose sidebar holds every company tool: Dashboard, Company listings, Analytics, Boosts, Locations, Homepage (with the add-on), Team, Company & billing, Subscription, Payments, and External integrations. The dashboard's Get set up checklist walks you through the remaining setup β or jump straight to Team to invite colleagues.
