Creating and publishing a listing
A well-crafted listing sells your vehicle faster β clear details, quality photos, and the right price get buyers to reach out.
Creating a listing on Kaarakauppa is a six-step process. You can save a draft at any time and continue later.
1. Vehicle details
Start by entering your vehicle's information:
- Open the listing form by selecting
Create New Listing. - Enter the vehicle's registration number and select
Decodeβ the system fills in basic details automatically. - Review and complete: make, model, year, mileage, fuel type, drive type, transmission, colour, and category.
- Optionally add technical details: VIN, engine specs, weight, seats, and doors.
- Select the vehicle's equipment from the equipment list.
π‘ Tip: If the registration lookup returns no results (e.g. a vehicle registered abroad), you can enter all details manually.
2. Condition
Assess the vehicle's condition:
- Select exterior condition (excellent, good, fair, poor).
- Select interior condition (pristine, clean, worn, damaged).
- Mark the mechanical status: engine runs smoothly, no dashboard warning lights, regular maintenance performed.
- Optionally describe any damage in the free-text field.
β οΈ Heads up: If you leave the condition fields empty, buyers won't see any mechanical status on your listing β this can reduce trust and enquiries.
3. Media gallery
Add photos of the vehicle:
- Drag and drop images onto the upload area, or click to select files.
- Set one image as the cover image β it appears in search results.
- You can remove images or add more later.
π‘ Tip: Take photos in daylight from all four corners, plus the interior and dashboard.
β οΈ Heads up: You can publish without photos, but listings without images receive significantly fewer views and enquiries.
4. Pricing & terms
Set the price and location for your listing:
- Enter the asking price in euros.
- Choose whether the price is negotiable.
- Set the location by entering a postal code β the system suggests the place name automatically.
- Optionally add a selling point β a short tagline shown on your listing card (e.g. "One owner, full service history").
- On a business account you can also set a monthly financing price, shown to buyers as "Financing from β¦ β¬/month".
π‘ Tip: The location is pre-filled from your profile postal code or business account address if set. You can always change it.
5. Visibility
Optionally boost your listing's visibility. Anything you pick is added to a cart with a running total:
- Quick Boost pushes your listing to the top of search results for 24 hours.
-
Search Priority adds a
Priority listingbadge and keeps your listing near the top of search results for the duration you choose. - Front Page features your listing on the front page.
- Premium Bundle combines Search Priority and Front Page.
A basic listing is always free and stays live in search for 60 days β boosts are optional. See What are boosts? for details and pricing.
6. Review
Finalise your listing before publishing:
- The listing's name is generated automatically from make, model, and any model description you added β there's no separate title field, so you can't edit the name at this step.
- Write a description. It's optional, but a description of at least 80 characters is recommended.
- Choose contact preferences: allow contact by phone, email, and/or WhatsApp.
- Preview how the listing appears in search results.
- Select
Publishβ orPublish & Payif your visibility cart has items β and confirm in the dialog. Paid boosts are charged through our online payment partner and activate once the payment is confirmed.
β οΈ Heads up: Check your contact preferences carefully. Buyers can always message you through the platform, but if you don't enable any direct contact method (phone, email, WhatsApp), it won't be shown on your listing.
β οΈ Heads up: Publishing needs a free listing slot. If every slot is in use you'll see
No free listing slotsβ free one by parking or selling a published listing, or on a business account you can buy more listing slots, and save this listing as a draft in the meantime. See What are listing slots?.
Saving a draft
Select Save & Return at any step to save your draft. Find drafts in your listings and continue editing later. Select Discard to delete an unfinished listing.
